What a difference a year can make!
Does anyone else feel that 2020 has passed us by in a blink of an eye? Somehow, I find myself here, teetering on the edge of bidding farewell to 2020, and anticipating what 2021 has in store. But with at least one foot still firmly on the present ground, for me, it has been a year of #reflection, #connection, and #collaboration.
The down time provided by COVID-19 provided both capacity and an environment for some blue sky thinking to explore an idea with two strong professional and successful women. An idea which blossomed through discussion, debate and rolling up our sleeves – a bit of a “Coronacoaster” you may say - and resulted in the birth of our new company - One People Pty Ltd - an Australian consultancy helping local government and larger not for profit organisations achieve their full potential.
With a focus on #BusinessStrategy, #Transformation, Interim and Virtual Executives, and Overflow Projects, our vision is to work alongside our clients as #oneteam with a shared ambition to tackle big challenges and deliver enduring outcomes. Solid individual expertise is supported and strengthened by our collective experience and substantial trusted networks.
Winston Churchill shared a wonderful philosophy that
“to improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”
This is a fundamental ethos of One People and aligns with our core value of strong discourse around supporting professional growth and integrity.
We understand it is not one size fits all when it comes to accessing capability. We value true flexibility in how we engage with people who work with us and appreciate that the outcome of this flexibility is not being rigid in our engagement models. Changing and morphing along the way is not something we fear.
So, while 2020 may have been a flash in the pan, my mind is drawn to that Marvel character who bears a speedy name:
“Life is locomotion. If you are not moving, you are not living. But there comes a time when you have to stop running away from things and you have to start running towards something. You have to forge ahead. Keep moving even if your path is not clear. Trust that you’ll find your way.” –The Flash.
While we do not know what’s in store for us, One People is excited about forging ahead, trusting that we’ll find our way to building new partnerships in 2021 and beyond, all the while being true to our passion of making a #sustainabledifference in the #localgovernment and #notforprofit sectors.
