What is the difference between working stroke and Max. stroke of pogo pin?

Pogopin, a spring pin in Chinese, refers to a spring loaded pin with elastic force. The working stroke and maximum stroke are marked in the drawings of pogo pin, but many customers do not understand the difference between the two. The main difference between them lies in their definitions and application scenarios.

Working stroke

The working stroke refers to the range in which the spring is compressed during normal use of the pogo pin. This stroke is to ensure that the pogo pin can stably make electrical connections in actual use and avoid contact instability or damage caused by excessive compression. Generally, in order to ensure the service life and stability of the pogo pin, it is recommended to compress it to about 2/3 of the total stroke.

Maximum stroke

The maximum stroke refers to the maximum compression range that the pogo pin can withstand, that is, the maximum distance that the spring can safely extend and retract. This stroke is a limit value considered when designing the pogo pin. Exceeding this stroke may cause spring damage or pogo pin function failure.

In summary, the working stroke is the compression range recommended for pogo pin in actual applications, while the maximum stroke is the maximum compression range that the pogo pin can withstand. The working stroke is usually smaller than the maximum stroke to ensure the stability and durability of the pogo pin.
