What is the difference between SPICe and SPICe+?

The main difference between SPICe (Simplified Proforma for Incorporating Company Electronically) and SPICe+ (Simplified Proforma for Incorporating Company Electronically Plus) lies in their features and functionalities. While both forms are used for the online incorporation of companies in India, SPICe+ is an upgraded version that offers several additional services and benefits compared to its predecessor, SPICe. Here are the key differences between SPICe and SPICe+:

  1. Integrated Services: SPICe allows for the incorporation of companies and provides services like name reservation, DIN allotment, and PAN and TAN application. On the other hand, SPICe+ offers a wider range of integrated services, including name reservation, incorporation, DIN allotment, PAN, TAN, GST registration, EPFO registration, and ESIC registration. This means that with SPICe+, you can apply for multiple registrations simultaneously through a single form, saving time and effort.
  2. Single Window System: SPICe+ operates as a single-window system, allowing applicants to submit all necessary documents and applications in one go. This eliminates the need to fill out multiple forms and visit various government offices for different registrations. With SPICe+, the entire incorporation process can be completed through a unified platform, streamlining the process and reducing administrative burdens.
  3. Additional Information: SPICe+ requires more detailed information compared to SPICe. The form includes additional fields to capture information related to the company's business activities, capital structure, subscribers, and nominee details. This enhanced level of detail ensures comprehensive documentation and better compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Digital Signatures: Both SPICe and SPICe+ utilize digital signatures for authentication. However, SPICe+ mandates the use of digital signatures for all subscribers and witnesses, ensuring the security and authenticity of the submitted documents. This strengthens the overall integrity of the online filing process.
  5. Web-based Application: SPICe was a downloadable form that had to be filled offline and then uploaded onto the MCA portal. In contrast, SPICe+ is a completely web-based application. Applicants can access the form directly on the MCA portal, fill it online, and submit it electronically. This transition to a web-based platform enhances convenience and accessibility for users.

Overall, SPICe+ represents an enhanced and more comprehensive version of the incorporation process compared to SPICe. It offers a broader spectrum of services, simplifies the filing procedure, and ensures greater accuracy and compliance.
