What did you learn this week?
Have you ever experienced rejection? What did you do? How did you handle it? Did you get angry? Did you vow to do or not to do something because someone rejected you? When the dust settled, how did the situation make you feel?
While you’re thinking, let me share with you what I have learned. Rejection can either distract you or motivate you. When it comes, and it will – shake it off, refocus and keep moving. I lost time last week thinking about a couple of situations (personal and professional) that were not going my way. I realized that while I was whining - my goals, my passions, my priorities were on pause. And for what - so I could wallow in self-pity? I have absolutely nothing to gain from that but a poor attitude. I have so much more to lose. So, what did I learn?
I learned that I don’t belong in every space I occupy. Some people, situations and opportunities are not for me. And that’s ok. Rejection is a part of life. Don’t let it distract you. Dust it off, refocus and keep moving forward.
Now as I prepare for a new workweek, let’s try this again.?
