What Did We Learn From Super Bowl LVIII?

What Did We Learn From Super Bowl LVIII?

What a Super Bowl - and that comes from someone who thinks football season is over when the last SEC game is played. Simply amazing. Guts, endurance, and trust in your teammates.?

What can we learn from this year's Super Bowl?

> You are never out of the game, so long as you stay in the game.?

San Fransisco played every bit as well as the Chiefs but did not come away with the win. Why? Sometimes, it comes down to the heart - and the team's heart. Kansas City never let the exceptional play of San Fransico?keep them out of the game - allowing the?Chiefs to race back in and take the victory.?

How does this apply to us? Most of us are in the second month of the standard calendar year, and some may already feel like the Chiefs, struggling to keep up with the 49ers most of the game. But, importantly, remember that Kansas City did not let the game get away from them, always keeping the?score within striking distance.?

The same applies to all of us operating a business. We must keep ourselves in the game (earnings, market share, performance metrics, etc.) as we manage through meaningful operational transitions, changes, and market challenges. Like the Chiefs, good companies have a game plan, deep talent, and consistently communicate a belief in each other to deliver.?

And while San Francisco played a remarkable game, Kansas City's game plan, talent, and team belief in each other allowed them the time and opportunity to win the game.

Good leaders communicate trust and their plans to inspire teammates. Every play (action) you take must help your operation gain important yardage - and keep the fiscal game from getting away from them.?Not all plays work. Mistakes or miscues occur. But good leaders and teams shake them off and get back to the plan and unwavering trust in each other to find a way to win.

You and your team are not unlike the Chiefs and 49rs - working against an always ticking time clock, incredibly hungry and talented competition, and a bottom line you must deliver on. Your leadership challenge is to stay in the game while leading your team down the field while working your plan and trusting in each other.

Go ahead, scramble like Patrick Mahomes...and bring victory to your team.?

Great points, Leonard. Even when we’re not performing at our best, hanging in there and staying focused can bring home a win. It’s up to us as the QBs to stay positive, especially in light of all the challenges. (Hoping my Cowboys remember that next season!)
