What is DID?

What is DID?

A Decentralized Identity is a ID that can be assigned to any entity either physical or virtual.

This ID looks like

did:ethr:0xf3beac30c498d9e26865f34fcaa57dbb935b0d74

This ID?? has a public and private key pair?? that can be used by the owner for management.

I can use the DID to register to any website instead of creating a new account for every site.

I can save credentials like college degree, driving license, etc in my DID.

My college?? or Government??? gets my DID and provides the credential after bio-metric verification??????.

Only I can make changes in the DID using the private key??.

This single ID??? can be used anywhere.

If the private key??? is compromised then it can be changed without affecting the DID itself.

This not only applies to humans but also to animals??, organisations???, products, processes and technologies.
