INTRODUCTION
Deepfake AI, a fusion of deep learning and fake, has emerged as a potent tool for creating convincing yet false images, audio, and video content. This technology, powered by generative adversarial networks (GANs), enables the manipulation of existing content or the creation of entirely new material, often leading to misleading information that appears authentic.
HOW DEEPFAKES WORK
Deepfakes operate through a generator-discriminator framework, where the generator creates initial fake content while the discriminator evaluates its realism. Through iterative refinement, both components enhance their capabilities, resulting in increasingly realistic outputs. Techniques such as source video manipulation, audio cloning, and lip syncing contribute to the creation of deepfake content.
TECHNOLOGIES DRIVING DEEPFAKES
The development of deepfake technology relies on advancements in GAN neural networks, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for visual data analysis, autoencoders for attribute identification, and natural language processing (NLP) for audio generation. High-performance computing facilitates the computational demands of deepfake creation.
