And what is the dance?
Thinking of our lives and relationships like a dance opens up wonderful possibilities.
Far from static, they are ever-unfolding movements, building on what has gone before.
join the dance we've been practising
for all of our lives.
Here’s the thing: in dancing, there are two kinds of practice.
One is to master the steps of this particular dance and know the sequence of movements that ensures that we are in the right place at the right time with our dance partner.
And then there is learning the foundations of movement in this particular genre, strengthening our muscle memory so we can improvise in free form with the music.
What kind are you currently dancing, and is it time to shift?
Pause. See differently. Re-story…

I wouldn't call my moves a 'particular kind of dance', Sue, what counts is being present on the dance floor, which brings me to one of my favourite quotes: Opportunity dances with those who are already on the dance floor. - H. Jackson Brown Jr.

6 个月That image of dancing is such a powerful one Sue Heatherington. We feel safer with practiced steps, but it's the free-form shape shifting that we need to let ourselves do too.
