They perform best in;

  • Mount Kenya region, especially in areas like Meru, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Kiambu where temperatures are cooler and altitudes are high.?
  • Central Rift Valley regions like Nyandarua, parts of Nakuru, Laikipia, Kericho, and Narok.?
  • Eastern Rift Valley areas like Naivasha and parts of Baringo County.?
  • Limuru and Tigoni in Kiambu as they have ample rainfall and cool temperatures.?
  • Western Kenya highlands, particularly around Uasin Gishu and areas around Nandi Hills.?
  • Mount Elgon area, especially in Trans-Nzoia and Bungoma.?

You need to factor in altitude, soil characteristics, rainfall distribution, and climate before investing in apple trees. They require a chilling period during the dormant stage to induce flower bud development and fruit production.?
