You see and hear plenty of arguments about refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers fleeing their homeland because of conflicts, politics, economics, marriage, education, and business. Of course, not everyone is happy about mass migration, but what if this is just a drop of water compared to what comes next?
According to the stats from Statista, many countries will face (if not already facing) water scarcity by 2040, including the most populous countries like China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iran, Turkey, the whole Middle East, and North Africa. Water scarcity means scarcity in agriculture. If agriculture disappears, millions of people will seek new ways to survive, more likely to migrate.?
Is it possible to stop it? If yes, how?
While it is difficult to give a particular answer to this question, we believe switching to circular economic systems in all industries will slow down the upcoming water scarcity. We need to;
- implement waste management systems,
- adopt smart, regenerative approaches for efficient water usage,
- wash our clothes, cars, and items less,?
- plant less water demanding plants,
- change our diet into less meat-oriented ones and countless more alternatives anyone can do.
By adopting circular economy principles in our industries, we can lower our impact on the environment, and that will help protect our clean water resources.
