What criteria define sexual addiction?

Do you know the criteria for defining sexual addiction? They're actually pretty straightforward: preoccupation to the point of obsession, loss of control, and directly related negative consequences. As such, sexual addiction is defined much as we define any other addiction. Read more at: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-25488/are-you-dating-a-sex-addict-heres-how-to-tell.html

Thanks Mr. Weiss. Pretty simple questions to give the potential sex addict the ability to diagnose themselves. We ask two basic questions similar to what your post suggests. 1. When you are using can you control or moderate the behavior you are engaged in every time? Examples include; time spent, money spent, places visited, people visited, type of behavior engaged in. If they are a real sex addict at the end of their rope they shouldn't have a too difficult a time answering NO to that question and having a bunch of examples of this inability to moderate their behavior. Next question. 2. If, when you honestly want to, can you quit entirely? This is either yes or no. These are the two qualifying questions we ask all potential sex addicts when we find one looking for help. This allows us to separate the hard users from the real addict. Hard users can quit or moderate if they just would. Real addicts would quit if they could. If the persons answers Yes to both questions we say "Welcome" to being a sex addict. Final question we ask them. Do want to pursue a solution to this problem? If you do then we would be happy to show you what we did. We have recovered and been given the power to help others. Amazing.
