What is Creator Mode and How can it help with Business Development?

Creator mode and your Creator hub control so many things now, I thought I would do a deep dive and explain.?

The 2 most obvious parts of Creator mode are outlined in red above -?

  1. 5 Quintessential hashtags for your business?
  2. The Clickable Link?

On your own Profile, scroll down to the?Resources?panel. Click on "Creator mode." Here you can add 5 important hashtags for what you do and the audience you serve.?

Be a detailed as you can - #ProfessionalBrandingOnLinkedIn ?

The length of each hashtag is generous. Capitalize each word for easier reading.?

Think about your main offerings and the content you post about.?

The clickable link offers an easy way to drive traffic to your website, a calendar link, a landing page, a lead magnet, signup for a webinar... Find out more about the?Clickable Link here .?

What else do you get??

3. Creator mode may put you on the radar of the LinkedIn editorial team so they feature your content. You have to publish A LOT for that to happen.?

4. You also great some great analytics. I can look at each post and gain insights about the people that view my posts, industry, location, industry, company and company size.?

In the lower right of each post look for "View Analytics" It gives you access to a variety of data.

You can't see exactly who is viewing your posts, but you can find out if you are hitting the right target. That my #1 is Attorneys, makes me smile. Founders and Real Estate Professionals are also my Ideal Audience.?

It validates the value of your content for your audience.?

And, there's more...

Open up the Creator hub to see your Creator tools. This is where you can find out if you have?5. LinkedIn Live,?6.?the Audio Event feature,?7. Newsletter feature and,?8. Follow tools.?

The only feature I'm interested in is Newsletters. It can be a very fast growth strategy. You want to be really strategic about it and align it with your business goals for 2023. More to come on that!?

There is one caveat.

Creator mode replaces the "Connect" Button with "Follow."?

Huge disadvantage IMHO. When you want people to directly connect you need to tell them to click "More" and find the "Connect" button there.?

If someone is "following" you, they see your content. They cannot see you contact information or DM you. I prefer to have people directly connect.?

How does this drive Biz Dev?

The hashtags help your profile and content get found by the right people.?

The clickable link is my everything. Several times a week someone uses it to get on my calendar. My calendar is part of my CRM and I get the option to "approve" or "decline" each appointment. I have yet to decline a single appointment in 2+ years of using the Clickable Link.?

I listed other traffic driving options above. What moves people closer to choosing to do business with you? That is where you drive traffic.?

LinkedIn Live, Audio, and Newsletter - each have their own strategy. In an upcoming newsletter, I will talk about Best Practices for LinkedIn Live.

I will be doing my own experiment with the Newsletter function. Another upcoming newsletter.?

The analytics are so key in my mind. How do you know you are reaching the right audience? Attorneys rarely engage with content and I don't blame them. They have to be so careful. I will be doing a video on the analytics soon.?

With Creator mode, your "Featured" section and "Activity" are moved to the top of your profile. Visitors get to see your Featured Resources (podcasts, articles, webinar promo...) and your original content at the top.

Your About section follows. Publishing increases your credibility. By the time they read your About section, you've already established(or not) that you are trustable.?

There is so much misinformation out there about these features. I took a great deal of your time dispelling those myths. I've heard more than one LinkedIn Consultant spread some of the misinformation.?

If you read this far, Thank you! I hope the info and screenshots help you make informed decisions for your Biz Dev plans!?
