What COVID19 made me realize

Disclaimer: What I'm about to share here is very personal and has little to no relevance on Linkedin as a professional network. I have decided to share this anyway since it might resonate with those of you who are still fighting covid or have fought covid in recent times. This post is also meant to serve as a reminder for myself.
I have fully recovered from covid a couple of days ago. Mine was a mild case with no drops in SpO2 and temperature returning back to normal after Day 5.
However, there was a point in time, I don't know which day it was...I think it was Day 2 or Day 3 when the fever stayed between 102-103 and I actually felt uncertain whether I'll survive.
I don't know if it was the temperature or hysteria but I really believed that I could die. So, I started paying attention to the thoughts on my so-called deathbed. These thoughts have taken me by surprise and I'm still absorbing them.
Fortunately, I remember all of them:
- I wish I had told you guys how much I love and value all of you (mom, dad, brother)
- I wish I had spent more time meaningfully engaging and connecting with/knowing all 3 of you more deeply
- I wish I did more work from the heart, had put more stuff out there, created more stuff, just for the sake of it, instead of caring about what I'm getting out of it i.e success/money/status/validation/appreciation/praise, etc.
- I wish I wrote more
- I wish I at least wrote about how the education sector can be revamped and made more beautiful
- I wish I could change/do something for the education sector
Notice all of them start with "I wish".
In the end, "What you put into the world matters much more than what you get"
If you are fortunate to be alive and your loved ones are also alive, tell them how much you love them TODAY. NOW.
