What is copywriting??

Copywriting is content written to promote products and businesses to a targeted audience. It is written to persuade customers to buy their product, subscribe to their mail and newsletters, follow them on social media pages, attend their events, and many more. Copywriting is basically a copy that is written to motivate customers to take some action and also make them open your website and the page on which you want to rank. Copywriting includes writing blogs, articles, social media posts, Ads, emails, and landing page content. Copywriters must be creative and write eye-catching content that can attract targeted and non-targeted audiences. Sometimes, we open some ads even though we are not looking for them because of the content. It's human nature “Let's atleast check this out.”?

For e.g. food ads?

Although you are not looking for food, if you find an ad like some restaurant has opened near your area or house you will open it, right? This means they attracted non-targeted audiences, too. However, you won’t go immediately but will keep that place in mind for the future.?

There are 7 types of copywriting. Let's check them out in detail.?

1. Direct response copywriting?

This means companies are writing to get immediate responses from customers. When businesses want their customer to subscribe to their page or newsletter or receive emails for new products, they write some short quotes using the subscribe now option. This is mainly seen on web pages or on social media apps with images and brands where they also ask to order or buy now. These ads include pay-per-click ads, sales or landing pages, online ads, sales emails, and more.?

Note- Many websites have written content marketing, which includes blog posts, articles, white papers, case studies and others. As a content writer, I don't consider them as part of copywriting they are part of content writing, which is written for educating readers.?

2. Social media copywriting - As a content writer, you should know what copywriting is but might not know how to and what to write in it. For this, you need to be creative and write words that can attract users. The word social media itself means the content is posted on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other mediums. Copywriters also write content for LinkedIn, medium and other platforms. A copywriter writes short, catchy lines and sometimes cringy lines. According to me, copywriting includes writing captions, small sentences for posts on social media, content for ads, and banners for customer awareness.?

3. Creative copywriting

Creative copywriting is what companies ask today. This means that the copywriter has to write catchphrases or catchy lines that attract the audience. Copywriters help companies to increase their brand awareness. They can write lines about their product or services. Copywriters also write ads for banners, social media, tshirts, billboards, etc. They write lines and words that are not boring, so they need to be creative for that. They mainly know how to handle social media accounts. Copywriters also write webpages like About Us, homepage, etc. We can take the example of Finger Licking Good by KFC.?

4. SEO copywriting

SEO copywriters use SEO strategies to attract the audience to their websites. They are copywriter with an understanding of SEO. According to me, they may have a basic or full understanding of SEO, like keyword research, SERP analysis, rank checking, etc. This is basic knowledge of SEO. They write content which can make customers immediately buy the product or service. They write the words in a way that can rank on Google. We can take the Best SEO Services in India as an example.

What is UX writing?

UX writing is content mainly written on buttons, error pages, menus, and chatbots. It also has instructions on the product for users who use it for the first time. In short, they are small pieces of content known as microcopy. UX writers mainly work with designers so that they can write content according to design. It is also written to lure the audience to websites.?

For e.g., if you open duplichecker, it always shows to use Grammerly for the grammar check, although it provides the same. They have written some short lines for users to open and check out.?

Note - I tried to include everything about copywriting. I am still learning copywriting because I don't think I am creative. I want to learn it, so after learning, I will explain how to write and what to learn. Inform me if I have made any mistakes.
