What are the convictions we share that make BNP Paribas an attractive employer?

A few days ago, LinkedIn published its list of Top Companies to work for in France, and I wanted to share with you the pride I felt when I learned that the BNP Paribas Group was number one, having jumped 5 spots since last year.

What are the convictions we share that make our Group an attractive employer?

Skill-building support for our employees

Supporting our employees in developing their existing skills, anticipating the skills they will need in the future and providing opportunities for them to grow professionally within the Group are all major factors that contribute to their sense of commitment to BNP Paribas. The Digital, Data & Agile Academy, launched in 2018, is one example of that lofty ambition, offering upskilling and reskilling programmes in the Academy's eponymous fields, which are so essential to the Group's transformation.

Employee diversity is one of our Group's most precious resources

BNP Paribas has a long-established policy of deliberately promoting diversity and inclusion. Open-mindedness, respect for others, team spirit — these are the values that drive us and foster an attractive and stimulating work environment. Each individual employee at every level can have an impact on this commitment. For example, all our staff members are currently invited to join Jean-Laurent Bonnafé in his commitment to gender equality by going to the BNP Paribas page on the UN Women HeForShe website to show their support.

Robust social foundations for our employees worldwide

In September 2018, we signed an agreement with our UNI Global Union partners entitled “BNP Paribas Agreement on fundamental rights and a common social foundation”, which establishes common social foundations for our 200,000 employees around the world. This bold agreement will help to improve the quality of life and working conditions of numerous employees in a variety of geographic locations. In particular, it establishes life, incapacity and disability insurance, health care coverage for all employees and a minimum maternity leave of 14 weeks, and recommends a minimum paternity leave of six days.

Positive impact is at the core of what we do

We must continue to meet the needs of our clients while also ensuring that our social, economic and environmental impact is positive. To that end, we are constantly adapting the services of our business lines. The most recent examples of these efforts include the following: green and socially responsible investments continue to grow in asset management, our Corporate & Institutional Banking business has become a leader in providing loans on the basis of environmental performance and our retail bank offers loans to help private individuals and companies in their transition to clean energy.

Once again, I want to thank all our employees on the ground for living these shared convictions every day!
