What is conversation sparking design work and how does it help you move the needle for your food and drinks business?

One of the biggest challenges for any food/drinks brand is finding a way to distinguish yourself from competitors in a crowded landscape. Trying to grab people's attention can be a bit like shouting over a crowded room.

But…

What if you didn’t need to shout?

What if the visual designs for your brand helped spread the word for you?

When I work with clients, my focus is always on:

  • Taking the amazing information/story behind the business and translating this into visuals for the brand - this can be through illustration, typography, colour and logo design.
  • Drawing attention to the business's unique selling points and what will help them stand out against others.
  • Choosing a colour that resonates with the business and its customers. Did you know in some cases, seeing the colour red can influence your appetite, to make you a little hungrier?
  • Creating packaging design, illustrations, logos, merch, signage etc that is super memorable and that people feel excited to share with other people in their lives.

Using all of this good stuff means you end up with design work that excites people the same way a great meal, coffee or cake excites people. This means they are more likely to chat about it with friends, share it on social media and chat about it in their day-to-day lives.

So you can worry far less about shouting to try and grab people's attention because you’ll have word-of-mouth marketing instead, which is a great way to grow a following.

Word-of-mouth is awesome because people trust recommendations from friends and family over more traditional forms of advertising with 81% of people saying they’re influenced by what their friends share on social media.?

Plus people are 5x more likely to become a customer if a brand is recommended to them by a friend. This is 100% true for me, I love a recommendation and love it even more when a friend takes me to a coffee or food spot they discovered and want to share their experience. Does it hold true for you?
