C40 Cities
C40 is a network of nearly 100 world-leading cities taking urgent action to confront the climate crisis. ?? ??♀?
As leaders gathered last week for the UN General Assembly, Summit of the Future and Climate Week NYC, C40 Cities and Museum for the United Nations - UN Live hosted four special editions of the Global We dialogues.
Over two days, over 35 people in New York City, Johannesburg, S?o Vicente and Mexico City joined four conversations, where they were asked to envision a world where there is human and planetary flourishing.
From sharing examples of city action to emphasising the importance of inclusivity and belonging, read the highlights of what was said throughout the conversations. ??
“We can see a way out of the climate crisis, but it has to be driven by inclusive action. There are some ways out that do not address inequality – this is not an option. We must take everyone with us in the transition.”
“I am worried for the state of the world, but I have hope that through conversations like this, across hierarchies and geographies, we can drive a better way of the world forward.”?
“My vision of the future is one where people heal their relationships, not only with nature, but with each other…we need to go back to looking out for each other.”
“Connection often starts with family, where we break bread with one another - how do we take this spirit of breaking bread together into other spaces?”

1 个月All of these statements resonate with me. Harmony with nature, respect for each other, reconnecting, helping vulnerable people, inclusion and driving a better way forward. Now, how do we take these statements and turn them into a reality?
