What is Continuous Improvement?

Continuous Improvement at O-I is a set of lean based processes and principles to help manage and improve performance. We are focused on creating a culture where people are engaged at the right levels and armed with information and tools to help them maintain tight control and discipline over our operations.

Our leadership team is focused on creating a culture where our people closest to the operations are engaged and operating in a a disciplined manner. This allows us to create an operating system where Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Fundamentals and Organizational Effectiveness are ONE effort, focused on standardizing our processes, engaging our people and creating a culture that produces continuous step improvement within North America.

The approach we take on deployment is a phased approach. We build on a solid foundation with our lean deployment and then utilize our Six Sigma and Project Management skills to continue building an environment that is focused on growing our people and tackling our most challenging opportunities.

We have successfully reduced energy usage, cut carbon emissions, increased the amount of recycled glass we use in our manufacturing process, and created a safer work environment.
