What consumers love and hate about c-store apps


Mobile app development has become one of the top priorities for convenience store retailers this year as the industry aims to boost loyalty participation and better serve customers.?

Retailers such as Casey's General Stores, Circle K , Nouria Energy , Parker's Kitchen and GPM Investments, LLC stments have all updated their apps in recent months, while ARKO Corp. (NASDAQ: ARKO) p and Dash In launched their apps for the first time.?


Kum & Go – 2.0/5

With an average score of 2.0 out of 5, Kum & Go’s mobile app is the lowest-rated c-store app with at least 100 customer reviews in the Apple App Store. Well over half of its ratings are one-star reviews.


RaceTrac – 2.5/5

RaceTrac launched its rewards app in early 2016. Seven years in, most customers using the app via their iPhones remain dissatisfied, according to App Store reviews.

Thorntons LLC – 2.7/5

Thorntons’ Refreshing Rewards mobile app only had six ratings of two or more stars over the past two years. It has 263 ratings overall.

Maverik, Inc. – 2.8/5

In addition to Kum & Go’s poor app ratings, its parent company’s platform isn’t spoken of too highly either.

People who reviewed the Yesway app did not just like the app itself — they were using the space to extol the virtues of the chain, as well. These positive feelings helped push it to an overall 4.8 rating.

Murphy USA Drive Rewards 4.8/5

Fuel rewards are the focus of both positive and negative reviews for Murphy USA’s loyalty app,. As the 4.8-star rating shows, the positive far outweighs the negative.
