What Is Compassion - You go to a village near rivers that have fish and see they do not have enough food to eat. You give them food. You teach them how to make fishing rods, teach them how to fish, give them seeds, and teach them how to grow many crops.

What Is Not Compassion - You go to a village near rivers that have fish and see they do not have enough food to eat. You steal their food. You steal their fish. You cut down their trees so so they are not able to make fishing rods. You build dams to steal their water for a hydroelectric plant.

What Is Compassion - Bulova teaching disabled Veterans how to fix watches for over 50 years. Bulova was training disabled Veterans how to fix watches decades before Americans With Disabilities Act was passed. Bulova made sure people who used Wheelchairs were able to get training. Bulova helped people who used Wheelchairs play different sports.

What Is Not Compassion - city governments that allow tables and chairs to take up too much space on sidewalks which endangers the lives of people who Wheelchairs. Forcing people who use Wheelchairs off sidewalks into busy streets increasing their odds of deaths is not compassion.

What Is Not Compassion - Over 80,000 dead since 2004 while on waitlist for Social Security Disability. Congress took over $2 trillion from Social Security to pay for military and other things. Members of Congress did not employ enough Administrative Law Judges.

What Is Not Compassion - People in Flint, Michigan harmed dealing with water while Michigan elected officials steal from people of Michigan by selling water cheaply to Nestle.

A tiny Michigan town is in a water fight with Nestle

February 04, 2018

www.pri.org/stories/2018-02-04/tiny-michigan-town-water-fight-nestle

"Nestle pays just $200 a year to the state of Michigan to pump more than 130 million gallons of water."

Congress should fix this mess and other similar messes. Nestle and other companies that take lot of water should have to pay all the infrastructure costs of taking this water plus a minimum price that is lot more than $ 200 a year for 100 million gallons of water. Nestle should have to pay at least what a resident of Manchester, New Hampshire has to pay for water from local water company. Companies should not be allowed to pay a lower rate for water than residents have to pay. Congress should care lot more about environmental harm caused by taking so much water in a year.

'They killed our city': Sedona residents confront lawmaker over short-term rentals

by Lorraine Longhi

www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona/2019/07/25/sedona-residents-challenge-rep-bob-thorpe-over-vacation-rentals/1811064001/

"The move comes as residents of the tourist hotspot grapple with the consequences of a two-year-old state laws that restricts how cities and towns can regulate short-term home rentals advertised on websites such as Airbnb or VRBO."

" But most residents insisted that local control must be returned to the city so that it can manage the number of investors buying up homes to turn into short-term rentals. "

"We never anticipated that somebody would go into a neighborhood, purchase a home and turn into a mini-hotel," Thorpe said. "

EVER WONDER WHAT PLANET MANY ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE ON. YOU KNOW TYPE - NO HIJACKINGS ON PLANES FOR MANY YEARS SO ALLOWED MOST AIR MARSHALS TO COME OFF PLANES AND REFUSED TO HARDEN COCKPITS BEFORE 9/11.

Another example - Bankers and others commit suicide during Great Depression. Bankers went to prison after Savings and Loan Crisis when Bush 1 was President. Moron economists, morons in Congress, other morons in government said could trust bankers and deregulate banks. National debt increased by trillions. Foreclosure suicides took place dealing with housing crisis.

Stupidity of city governments, stupidity of state governments, and stupidity of Congress one of main reasons USA does not have enough affordable housing and so many homeless people.

What Is Not Compassion - Safe Deposit Boxes Aren't Safe

When Philip Poniz opened Box 105 at his local Wells Fargo, he discovered it was empty - and that he was totally unprotected by federal law.

by Stacy Cowley

July 19, 2019

www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/business/safe-deposit-box-theft.html

Corrupt members of Congress and incompetent members of Congress who lacked compassion supported the deregulation of banks after the Savings and Loan Crisis. Bankers and others committed suicides during the Great Depression.

Many bankers went to prison after the Savings and Loan Crisis when Bush 1 was president.

Deregulation of banks after Savings and Loan Crisis led to national debt increasing by trillions of dollars and foreclosure suicides dealing with housing crisis.

When are members of Congress going to do their jobs and pass federal laws that protect people and businesses that have safe deposit boxes. There should be "federal laws governing the boxes" - rules that "require banks to compensate customers if their property is stolen or destroyed." What protects customers of banks now from bank employees who steal things from safe deposit boxes.

Congress and "The Office of the Controller of the Currency, the banking industry's main federal overseer" should realize the huge importance of regulating safe deposit boxes. Safe deposit boxes help protect copies of home insurance policies, auto insurance policies, living wills, estate plans, durable power of attorneys for financial matters, durable power of attorneys for health care. If your house burns down, the only place that might still have important documents is safe deposit box.

What Is Compassion - The DIY Girls

How 12 teens invented a solar-powered tent for the homeless

by Brittany Levine Beckman

2017

https://mashable.com/2017/06/15/diy-girls-solar-powered-tent-homeless/

"In the San Fernando Valley, homelessness increased 36% to 7,094 people last year, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Agency's annual count. Daniela and her friends wanted to help, but giving money wasn't an option."

"That was the starting point for their invention: a solar-powered tent that folds up into a rollaway backpack. The girls and 10 others from their high school had never done any hands-on engineering work before, but with the help of Youtube, Google, and trial-and-error, they got it done."

What Is Not Compassion - government tearing down homeless tent cities and not replacing them in better places. It has been well known for many years that many homeless Veterans and other homeless people are not able to live in apartments or shelters because of PTSD. I watched in 1988 - Home Street Home with Tom Brokaw that discussed Homeless Vietnam Veterans, other homeless people, solutions. Many homeless veterans and other homeless people may be able to live in tent cities that have buildings near them with medical staff, tutoring, bathrooms, showers, etc.

A Florida woman was fined $100,000 for a dirty pool and overgrown grass. When do fines become excessive?

States, cities and counties cooled billions of dollars in fines. The Supreme Court raised the possibility that some are going too far.

www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/politics/2019/07/19/florida-city-hits-homeowners-massive-penalties-supreme-court-excessive-fines/1691703001/

Excessive fines have never been constitutional because of Amendment Eight of Constitution. States, cities, and counties that have imposed excessive fines should have to pay back the money they have stolen plus interest and punitive damages. Many elected officials and other government employees should receive long prison sentences.

Amendment Eight of the Constitution was ratified for many reasons. Our founding fathers were harmed by excessive fines and excessive bail. Charging a person a fine the person is not able to pay is an excessive fine. Putting a person in jail because not able to afford bail is excessive bail. Fines and bail need to be based on what the person is able to pay.

Governments that have put people in jail because not able to afford bail should have to pay damages to the people they have harmed - putting people in prison without a conviction for a crime. Many elected officials, judges, etc should be put in prison for giving people excessive bail. Many of our founding fathers were harmed by excessive bail.

Bill of Rights

Damages are not fines. You cause a car accident that causes many millions of dollars in damages you may be held liable for millions of dollars.

Kidnapping of children is evil.

What Is Not Compassion - city government denies disabled people the ability to travel because it does not want to make healthy college students walk a short distance. Person fills out an application for transportation service that is required by the Americans With Disabilities Act. Person gets approved and then told has to travel to within 3/4 miles of fixed bus route before van will pick person up - think about how evil this would be if person is paralyzed and the reason why the person is not within 3/4 miles of fixed bus route is because city government refuses to use Union Street on 45 minute routes of route 5 to go to SNHU and then River Road after leaving SNHU. The bus would take students to their apartments at Colonial Village on River Road after leaving SNHU. City Government does not want students who want to get home quickly to have to walk a short distance from Union Street to Colonial Village on River Road. I think SNHU students are smart enough to walk a short distance from Union Street to Colonial Village on River Road. When will City Government think SNHU students are smart enough to take a short walk from Union Street to River Road? Why should this matter to you? Better bus system is for city more this benefits affordable housing.

High quality bus service in Manchester - more of Manchester covered by buses, some bus routes more frequent coverage, more being hours, Sunday bus service would allow Manchester to have very tall buildings like Boston has downtown and parking garages to be built far away from them. City Government could require more low income apartments and more middle income apartments be built in the apartment towers than luxury apartments.
