What are the common faults of fuel injectors ?

1. Poor atomization of the fuel injector, fault phenomenon:

The power of the diesel engine has decreased, black smoke is emitted from the exhaust gas, and the sound of the machine operation is abnormal.

Fault analysis:

  • When the fuel injection pressure is too low, the nozzle wears and deposits carbon, the spring end face wears or the elasticity decreases, which can cause the fuel injector to open too early and close too late, leading to poor atomization. In addition, due to the insufficient combustion of diesel droplets with excessive particle size, they flow into the oil pan along the cylinder wall, causing an increase in oil level, a decrease in viscosity, and poor lubrication, which may also cause wall burning and cylinder pulling accidents;

Fuel injector dripping, fault phenomenon:

When the temperature of the diesel engine is low, it is difficult to start, and the exhaust pipe emits white smoke. When the temperature of the diesel engine increases, it becomes black smoke and high fuel consumption.

Fault analysis:

When the fuel injector is working, the sealing cone of the needle valve body will be frequently and strongly impacted by the needle valve, and high-pressure fuel will continuously spray out from there, causing the cone to gradually wear or appear spots, causing the fuel injector to drip. When the temperature of the diesel engine is low, the exhaust pipe emits white smoke, while when the temperature of the diesel engine increases, the exhaust pipe emits black smoke. Check whether the movement of the needle valve is flexible, and the cone surface should be free of wear and tightness; Otherwise, a new fuel injector needs to be replaced;
