What if there was a colleague appreciation day… ??

Hey friend ??

This is a repost of our monthly newsletter.?This edition initially went out on February 13. Sign up if you don't want to miss the next one.

Imagine if there was St. Valentine’s day, but for colleagues. One day when the main goal is to show that one person in your team that you don’t take for granted their:

  • time management skills
  • note-taking abilities
  • people skills
  • sense of humor they show off in the #watercooler channel

What would we call that? A Colleagtines day? A Thanks-for-saving-me day? And would we buy them Slack logo-shaped candies and bouquets of Sharpies?

If we were to make Colleagtine’s day a thing, who would you buy a card for? And what would it say?

While you ponder that, let’s browse some of Userlist’s recent content. The topics are addressing user anxieties, A/B testing, and QA in email marketing.

User Obstacles and Anxieties: How to Address Them in User Onboarding Emails

What keeps your trials from converting? It's the obstacles and anxieties the users face during the onboarding. How do you understand and address those show-stoppers?

Our wonderful guest author Wangari Peris shares how to spot the obstacles using research, and how to help the users overcome these obstacles using emails.

  • Have you ever got caught up in the A/B testing too early on and couldn’t see the wood for the trees? Sahil Patel is your go-to person if you want to learn how to properly A/B test, and when, where, and how to prioritize what you’ll be testing. Tune in to listen →
  • And if you want a combo of an interesting career trajectory + experience-backed advice on QA in email marketing, definitely listen to this conversation Jane had with Michael Wilding . Tune in to listen →

Product updates

We added several nifty "beyond classic" improvements to the workflow automation. Now you can:

  • Update user properties right inside workflows
  • Create custom events in users’ timeline
  • "Wait until" something happens
  • See better text previews for trigger-type nodes (less dramatic but very helpful)

You can also check out a video on updating user properties here (and give Jane a follow if you haven’t already).

If you want a more in-depth overview of the new functionalities within Userlist, book a demo call.

From our miscellaneous drawer

  • The bigger your team gets, the more chaotic your naming can become. This succinct guide on naming conventions should help prevent that. If you decide to follow it, make sure to include it in the onboarding checklist for future team members.
  • For when you want a more casual read, here’s a humanly curated repo of personal and independent newsletters. As a big fan of human curation, I found it very refreshing.
  • I like a good opinion piece. I don’t necessarily have to agree with it, but I greatly appreciate when someone shows their thought process and doesn’t go straight for the buzz. And this one definitely passed the bar.

Spot an opinion piece you think I’d like? Do send it our way. The same goes if you have any questions about email automation. We’d love to hear from you.

Until next month ??
