What is coaching, and what exactly does a coach do?
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines Coaching as the collaboration between the Client and Coach in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires Clients to maximize their personal and professional potential.
Essentially, it is a relationship-centered and result-oriented partnership between the Client and Coach where powerful and transforming conversations take place. They co-create an action plan that is focused on the needs of the individual.
Through the process of Coaching, clients are empowered to design and live the lives they desire by choosing to operate to their fullest potential at any given time through self-directed learning, challenging the status quo, transformative change, and growth.

This process provides Clients insights into new ways of thinking and operating, and subsequently, with practice, new skills that will allow them to better reach their goals and create the life and career they desire.
So, what does a Coach do again??In short, a Coach helps a client define exactly what she or he wants to experience, feel or achieve in their life that is different from where they are now.?The Coach then utilizes a set of tools and assignments to assist the client in honing the self-insight and skills necessary to make greater progress toward these goals.
There are various factors that inform how a Coach approaches this work.?These include specific coaching modalities and techniques that have been acquired through training and certification programs, as well as their own “secret sauce” – their unique combination of professional expertise, life experiences, and perspective.
