Because it is not just Lockheed, Raytheon or other large billion-dollar DoD (Department of Defense) prime contractors that receive controlled information, it is their vendors and suppliers too.??Controlled information can be bits and pieces of a larger classified program like drawings of parts, specifications or even documents related to your contract.?

Why is CMMC relevant to DoD Manufacturers?

CMMC Compliance and or certification is tied to your contract revenues.

This means you could be prevented from bidding on new work, existing contracts can be pulled or in some cases you can even be blocked from working with the DoD or their prime contractors in the future.
