Why Cloud Computing?
In today’s world when everything is virtualized, digitized and automated, cloud computing is becoming essential in responding to ever evolving work patterns. Every organization, big multinationals or startup’s are adopting and growing on usage of cloud computing irrespective of the industry sector they are in. What’s your view??
Can we safely say that Cloud is future?
How the world of cloud computing will look like in 2022?
Gartner said that the demand for integration capabilities, agile work processes will drive the continued shift to Cloud. Businesses no longer have to invest in dedicated hardware. As your data and applications are available on cloud, it’s available to you anywhere anytime just with a good internet connection. This brings the businesses to an always on state….. the state, businesses are getting to in today’s world.
In this article, we are going to explore every aspect of cloud computing that you need to know. It’s just a 5 minute read, so stay glued!!!!
What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud computing is to access the IT resources over the internet when needed, Pay- as- you- use Pricing, for resources which includes servers, database, networking, storage, analytics and machine learning.
How important is the cloud? Let’s figure out with a comparison of
Traditional Data centers?Vs?Cloud computing
In traditional data centers, you require dedicated servers and other hardware for applications and also the physical / environmental facilities which includes space, power, staffing, cooling etc.
With cloud computing, without buying owning and maintaining physical data centers, you can enjoy smooth transition, easier migration, scaling up and down your workloads, securely and reliably with better operational efficiency and cost savings, with just a few click.
Let me share some reasons why cloud computing is beneficial---
Core elements of Cloud Computing
There’s no one size fit all journey to cloud. Every organization has different use cases. Some prefer to stay on-prem, while others choose to move fully, while others may use both on-prem as well as cloud for their applications.
So according to your requirement, you could choose your best fit.
IAAS ( Infrastructure As Service) – refers to the fundamental building blocks for cloud infrastructure
Provides computing resources like server, storage and networking.

Providers
PAAS (Platform As A Service)- This layer includes the tools and software that developers need to build application, like middleware, operating system, data base management and development tools. Paas allows developers to create a scalable application. It provides a framework that eliminates the need to manage servers and backups.
?Example ?: - Elastic Bean Stalk ,Apache, Stratos
When to use Paas
When you want to focus on building application and not on running security patches. Paas is the right choice. It will save you loads on costs efforts and time.

?SAAS (Software As A Service)- Provides access to a web application through the internet. It does not require you to download any tools or software. In this service user can directly access the application without worrying about the cloud infrastructure and It’s maintenance. ?So, Saas provides complete product that is run and managed by the cloud service provider (CSP).
Example : - ?Google ,WorkSpace , SalesForce
When to use
When you want to focus on only build your application

To streamline the processes that work best for your business, cloud providers offer various deployment models.
Public Cloud – From this model, users can access a large pool of computing power over the internet, which is shared out between large number of customers, called “Multi-Tenant”.
Use Case – Less sensitive applications like that demand a varying amount of resources.
Private Cloud – is dedicated to a single customer. It gives more control over security, data privacy and compliance.
Use Case – Operational and sensitive data that which should not be accessible to third party providers.
Hybrid Cloud – is a bit of this, a bit of that, means some data in public cloud and some data in private cloud
Hybrid Cloud =Public cloud + Private Cloud
The main aim to combine these cloud is to create a unified, automated and well managed computing environment.
In this cloud Non critical activities are performed by the public cloud and critical activities are performed by a private cloud .
Top Cloud Service Providers (CSP’s)
Cloud Providers in the market creating cloud solutions to drive digital transformation where and when it is needed. Cloud services are designed and delivered in a way that it meet’s the customer requirements.
Some top cloud service providers globally are -
Market Share of top cloud providers
Conclusion
So we can say that Cloud computing has a potential to enrich the end user experience as it provide many benefits to businesses. Cloud computing allows their customer’s to Accomplish lot more with a lot less, and at the same time allow them to focus more on their core business activities!!!
