Vanilla grows best in a hot, humid climate from sea level to an elevation of 1,500m. The ideal climate must have moderate rainfall, 1500-3000mm, evenly distributed throughout 10 months of the year. The optimum temperatures for cultivation are 15-30 degrees Celsius.
