What is Ciklopea’s Technology-Eclectic Approach?
Being close to 16 years in business is perhaps a good moment to take the proverbial step back to try and find the ultimate answers to the philosophical questions such as What makes us tick? or What makes us what we are?
It is clear that the heart of our business has always been and will always be related to utilization of language and cross-cultural communication to their fullest potential to support the international business operations of companies and organizations.
However, this utilization heavily depends on our technological infrastructure that enables smart application of professional human knowledge, reasonably fast project execution and – last but certainly not the least – integration with the client’s processes and technological infrastructure.
This basically means that our core business is the development of language solutions that are defined by three major aspects:
1) Individual project requirements
2) Professional human knowledge
3) Technology
Each of these aspects is equally important and they constitute more than a simple sum of their parts – their result is what ultimately makes a translation/localization effort successful or not – but it is the technology that glues all of this together and makes the development and application of language solutions possible.
In other words, the technical proficiency of our teams is of equal importance as their linguistic, expert or creative abilities.
Right from the start, our approach to project execution has been characterized by a virtually unlimited openness to technologies and their application. Once we established the project requirements with the client that include the nature and purpose of their materials, their target audiences, the desired tone of their message, the next step was to build the most appropriate approach based on the client’s technological infrastructure and requirements and finally to build the best teams and communicate the linguistic and technical project requirements to them.
That approach frequently required use of (sometimes dramatically) different technologies, but we never allowed that to have an impact on us.
Because this is what we do – we define processes and develop workflows on the basis of the client’s requirements and our professional standards.
Finding the best possible solution for every individual project and its successful execution is what makes us tick.
Technological eclecticism is what we are.
