What children need to be safe, secure, happy & able to learn
In this very special interview in the "How to talk policy and influence people" series of Law and Justice, I talk to my daughter Aurora Lee Seybert about what children need to feel safe, happy, secure, ready to learn and have fun with their peers, including lots of hugs and affection, cuddly toys and positive relationships with extended family, teachers and other supportive adults. Aurora also shares her thoughts on what Dr Dan Siegel calls "interpersonal neurobiology", the impact of parental stress on children's behaviour and emotional states, and how the State needs to ensure that the basic needs of children and families are met.
