What a Child teaches us?

What a Child teaches us?

A child is a pack full of dreams. Their ideal world is a world with imperfections, where they can run across the vast fields in mud with their friends, shake hands with a lion, get wet in rain, draw a perfect rainbow, climb a tree and open up a world full of possibilities. Everyone knows, they just need to be reminded but children are inherited with positivity that we tend to lose gradually in the aging process.

Had there been a little retention, the world could have been a better place, a place that poets portray, a world with kindness and love.

“Every child you encounter is a divine appointment.”
- Wess Stafford, President Emeritus of Compassion International

What can you learn from a child?

1) Forgiveness

Forgiveness is acceptance and acceptance is a miracle. A child’s mind resists over thinking. They create an aura of forgiveness, not revenge where even darkest of minds are forgiven for their acts. They always will talk to you the same way, greet you with the most precious smile no matter how unkind you were. Everyone is equal and so everyone deserves forgiveness, and that holds true when children prove it.

“The soul is healed by being with children.”
- Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Russian novelist and philosopher

2) Happiness can be without a reason

We, as adults, have a reason to smile. Promotion, success, money, we measure the happiness that dances parallel with material things. Smile is not happiness. Happiness is what comes from within. A child walks on grass, barefoot and the smile that is portrayed is powerful enough to heal a crying eye.

3) A Physically tired sleep is the best

Our bodies are made to be active. Since the beginning, our ancestors ran miles to hunt, made fire by accelerating their muscles, and produced food from the ground under the sun. A child, no matter how cool the room is, will always feel pleasure to play under the sun. At night, a child takes out most of the sleep.

As adults, we are becoming obsessed with mental activity and completely neglecting that our bodies need to work. What best can explain insomnia, disturbed sleeping patterns and tiredness?

"Play energizes and enlivens us. It eases our burdens. It renews our natural sense of optimism and opens us up to new possibilities."
- Stuart Brown

4) Optimism

A child feels limitless, boundary less. They are loaded with determination and for them, time is a companion, not an enemy. They do not know what it is like to not be determined, which helps them achieve small ounces of happiness and power to celebrate failure.

5) Curiosity

It is often said, not everyone is qualified enough to answer a child’s question. Perhaps, it is true.

“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.”
- John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States

6) One thing at a time

Children avoid multitasking and focus on just one task at one time. This not only improves concentration by making a centering thought but enables them to discover new things.

7) Courage

Dance like no one’s watching, today we need reminders. But a child isn’t afraid to do so. She can get herself wet with mud, dance in the middle of the street, sing her heart out, without fear, without being judged. Unlike the conscious us, because for us, we have grown up and these immeasurable pleasures of life are ‘kid dish’.

8) Friendship

Children cherish their friendships, they love to make friends and have faith in people. They go to each other’s parties, dance together and laugh. They are capable of empathy and truthfulness.

"In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed."
- Khalil Gibran

A child is a book for a purpose, to get back to you, to bring the unaltered meanings of life that you have long forgotten.
