ChatGPT is a new AI technology that answers complex questions conversationally. It has been specifically trained to understand the human intent in a question and provide answers that are helpful, truthful and harmless. Its dialogue format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer followup questions.

It uses content from the web before 2021 to teach itself how to answer questions, but when it has difficulty with recent and trending topics.

ChatGPT can be used to write poems, songs, write an essay or article outline, product descriptions and much more.

It can be used to rewrite or improve existing content: You could provide ChatGPT with an existing article, and it could generate a revised or improved version of the article.

You might provide an article that is too wordy or difficult to understand, and ChatGPT could generate a version that is more concise and easier to read.

By providing an outline or a list of points that you want included in an article, ChatGPT could generate the text to fill in the gaps.

Keep in mind that ChatGPT is a machine learning model and may not always produce high-quality or error-free content.

It’s important to review and personalise the generated content with your experience to ensure that it’s original, accurate, user-focused and appropriate. SEO experts recommend using AI tools as a writing assistant rather than a content creator, and focusing on producing the best content to answer searchers’ queries.

It will be interesting to see how Google responds to a likely increase in duplicate AI-generated content. A flood of AI content in the search results, supplanting expert articles written by humans, would not be good for searchers. It’s likely that those sites will be penalised. There are plenty of tools that are good at detecting AI content and Google is well aware of what’s happening. Furthermore, a watermark may be introduced in the future.

The use of ChatGPT is currently free, although that may change in the future.
