Let's start with the idea that the answer is unnecessary, but the question is essential! Throughout history, countless discoveries, some even revolutionary, have started from the question "What if?" Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Montague and Capulet were family friends?

I have to confess that the idea of this article came to me while I was reading Robert B. Cialdini's exceptional book, "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion." In the chapter on scarcity, I encountered the concepts related to the role of parental interference and psychological reactance, which made me think more about the possible applications of "what if."
An essential element of human psychology is the tendency to want what has been banned and, therefore, to assume that it is more worthwhile. Therefore if we analyze to remove the barrier, we can have some exciting surprises.
The play Romeo and Juliet's background is represented by the fight between the two families, Capulet and Montague. This rivalry is present in the daily life of all the inhabitants and will have a well-known impact on the love story between Romeo and Juliet. As a small parenthesis, I've always wondered what could have happened if the Montagues and Capulets were close family friends.
Then other questions came up! And each question leaves a vast territory available for speculation and new scenarios. The most important ones, from my point of view, are the ones below!
What would the dynamics of Romeo and Juliet's relationship be like if their families were friends?
How would the story change if the Montagues and Capulets had a long history of close friendship?
What kind of conflicts would arise if the two families were close but still held different values and beliefs?
