What Can We Expect From Email Services in 2016

If there’s one thing that’s true about emails, it’s always there. However, the Internet has been so significantly evolving, that the emailing must adjust to accommodate both new forms and functions. This year’s emerging trends aim to streamline and perfect the user experience.

-> Aesthetic appeal will play significant role pushing out simple plain emails and bringing more focus on design and visual effects. Marketers will take advantage of it not only in B2B, B2C communications; but will be able to employ rich visual messages in internal communications and employer branding. Increase of video and animation in email content will continue to garner more importance and find wider application. In this context Gmail will likely offer style and media query support which will greatly enhance the experience of millions of individuals and companies.

-> Mobile phone as a dominating device for email opening will affect which of the current email services will survive. The share of emails opened on mobile device reaches up to 49%; obviously this number is going up this year and every year. The example of Yahoo disastrous experience illustrates that even such incumbents should not avoid the strive for improvements. I am personally fed up with not being able to forward several emails in one on my iPhone. And how many of us are there with such or different pain...

-> Interlacing of email and other media - not only bring more and better social media content to the email can enrich the latter; seamless dialog should become a new axiom between an email client and any external application. Like Gmail recognizes the content in emails and allocates to its other services (Calendar, Drive), more of such interconnection should take place assisting users in everyday business and private life.

Finally, wider sophisticated architecture and deeper user engagement can convert emailing to infotainment medium, leaving simple quick information exchange to WhatsApp and other messengers.
