What can a VA do?

People often ask — “Well, what can a VA do?”

And, I’ve got heaps of resources telling you what a VA can do!

I’ve got a book called What a VA can do, another one that lists 100 things our VAs did for us while we were in Fiji, and the 26 things VAs can do to help you make more money this year.

But…

There are two other frameworks that I like to use to find out what to delegate to a Virtual Assistant.

The first is — What really ANNOYS you?!

So, as you go about your day (doing stuff you typically do every single day) and you’re thinking “Why do I have to do this again?”

“I’m a business owner, I shouldn’t be doing this… this is just ANNOYING!”

Whenever you feel those emotions or get those thoughts, you just STOP and go “Hmmm… maybe I can get someone to do it for me.”

Now I know that you can’t delegate every single thing that annoys you, but A LOT of it you can.

It might be…

Filtering through your email.

Juggling an appointment.

Sending a follow up SMS for your unpaid invoices.

The point is that if you’re just doing something that gets you worked up and annoyed — there’s a good chance that you might be able to delegate that to someone else (perhaps a Virtual Assistant).

Another thing I like to think about on working out what to delegate is instead of going “What can a Virtual Assistant do?”...

The second is —“What should I be doing?”.

There are three things I should be doing in my business.

I should be doing

??Strategy

??Developing core content

??Sales.

If I’m doing anything other than those three things then I STOP.

Administration, filing, finding documents, ANYTHING that are not one of those three things… then I go “maybe I can find someone else to support me with it”.

Don’t get me wrong.

It’s not always possible, but it often is.
