What can ladders teach you about life?
Climbing the ladder
In life, we all have to climb the ladder in one way or another.
The ladder can be seen as signifying our journey towards growth.
The ladder is a reminder that we only get to the top or where we want to be, step by step.
If we try to skip steps on the ladder, inevitably, the ladder will shake, and our progress will be somewhat hindered.
Climbing the ladder requires us to be careful, patient, and balanced in our approach.
What will happen if you rush climbing the ladder?
When you rush climbing the ladder, there's a risk that you will overlook some of the key steps that are integral to your growth.
You may get to the top, but you won't have the stable foundation and structure to stay there.
That's because your growth happens on the climb at each step, not just by appearing at the top.
The position and direction of the ladder.
You have to be intentional with how you climb the ladder.
In the wise words of Stephen Covey...
It's not just about climbing the ladder; how you position the ladder is arguably more important.
How often do you start doing something only to find you haven't positioned the ladder correctly against the right wall?
Before you start climbing, check twice to make sure you have positioned the ladder correctly.
