What Can I do for You as Your Digital Marketer?
I can't believe I am writing my last blog post for #wwudigimark. It's surreal to think that I'm just two quarters away from graduating with a marketing degree amid a pandemic that flipped everyone's lives around.
Beginning my marketing journey, at times, I would question if this is something I'm passionate about and would want to do my entire life. Over the last ten weeks of taking this course, I solidified what I want to do within marketing and found a passion for digital marketing.
Digital Marketing Concepts and Certifications
In the course, we covered topics I have never heard about, like inbound marketing that works to nurture consumers, prospects, and customers along their buying journey or optimize your website for it to appear first in SERP. Within each topic that we studied, I've written a total of 15 blog posts covering each one in-depth. Here is everything I've learned this quarter and the value I can bring to your business as your digital marketer:
- Google Analytics
- A/B testing and Conversion Rate Optimization
- Inbound Marketing
- Content Marketing
- Organic Social Media
- Paid Social Media
- Search Engine Optimization
- Voice and Local SEO
- Paid Search
- Basic Coding and Website Development
- Landing Pages
- Email Marketing
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- VR and AR
- Social Marketing
In addition to these blog posts, I became certified in Google Analytics, Hootsuite Platform, Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner by IBM, Hubspot Inbound, and soon to be Google AdWords. I know these certifications will bring plenty of value to wherever life takes me next after graduating.
What I Enjoy
Out of all the digital marketing concepts covered, a topic that I truly enjoyed was social media. Social media is vital because this is where you can reach a large population of your audience directly, build brand awareness, and encourage engagement. It can also help your company build a relationship and communicate with the consumers. With my Hootsuite Platform certification, I can manage your social media accounts, schedule posts, and keep up with what everyone says about your brand.
I also found coding and website development to be an exciting topic. Even though I'm not an experienced coder and only learned the basics, I plan to take advantage of Codeacadmys free coding course and learn new languages like javascript and python. As for site-building, I can build you a functional and impressive website through platforms like Squarespace and WordPress that will create a great first impression and help your SEO strategy.
This is Goodbye...
Throughout this quarter, I believe I've learned some of the most valuable digital marketing skills that I know will benefit me greatly in my future career. From this course specifically, I have gained more knowledge and understanding than any other class I've taken in my college career here at WWU. Ending this course, I am glad of the progress I've made on becoming a t-shaped marketer. As I'm leaving this class, my learning doesn't stop here. A wise man once said, " If you stop learning, you start dying," and I couldn't agree more. The digital marketing world is always growing and changing, and I've made a goal to always "optimize," "innovate," and keep up with what's happening in the world of digital marketing so my skills would not "die."
