What Is Camp? Who are Business Builders? Why Men?

In this video I talk about how I'm focusing on men and I explain more about what camp is all about. If you prefer to read, please see the transcription below.

Business Builder Camp is about niching in my coaching business and building a business beyond the one-on-one work that I do. And it's something that is going to allow me to serve the people I am working with in a bigger and wider way, and also to serve more guys that are building businesses.

I love working with all kinds of entrepreneurs and business owners. And I've been doing that for over six years, but I particularly have enjoyed working with guys where we get to talk about family and life and children and being a husband and building a life and maybe my farm stuff or their epic outdoor adventure things, et cetera in addition to growing their business. So the place that I want to niche and focus on is guys like you, who have a business, who are entrepreneurs and we'll working on the business stuff like I've always done in my coaching consulting.

We will work on how to hire people, how to build teams, how to build an executive team that makes the company even better while you are on vacation with your family. We'll work on sales, marketing, messaging, all of those things. I love studying, working books, not just reading them, but working them, writing down the exercise in the book so that you grow mentally and so that you grow your team. Those things are all going to be part of Camp. Next month, we're going to read a book called The Family Boardroom, which is about making sure you have time for your family. I'm planning on doing No More Mr Nice Guy, which is both about my relationship with my wife and my relationship with people at work. So that's, what's coming up in the books department of Business Builder Camp. We will read and work business books and life books and High performance books.

The camp idea came about because we've had some really successful events where we gathered guys together in Gettysburg, at Turkey Trot Acres and here at the farm. Whenever I bring my guys together (my dudes that are building businesses) together in those outdoor settings, which is something I love, we tend to push each other, stretch each other. The conversations are always great. People instantly connect with one another because you guys have so much in common, you speak the same language. You've had the same challenges and a lot of different ones too. So you end up helping each other.

We're going to build this in a way that is industry agnostic, meaning we're not just going to build camp on one industry because sometimes a certain industry has figured out a challenge or a problem that your industry may not have figured out. So if you're a landscaper, people that are over in plumbing may have all figured out some sort of hack for scheduling appointments, for example, that you haven't figured out. And we all have in common, this thing where we're trying to build the business and we have the business spill over into our home life. And we all have the common ground where we all want to be at the top of our game. We want to be challenged. We want to be pushed. We want to be our best. And being around a bunch of other sharp dudes, who aren't always in our type of business, the people that want to keep building, keep doing and like to create things at home. My thing I'm creating is the farm and the property and my kids and experiences with them. It's good to be around these high performing guys with similar mindsets from all industries. So Camp is industry agnostic.

The last thing I want to say today is that Camp encompasses for me... all my coaching and growth work with men who are building businesses. So it's my one-on-one work where we're talking just you and I, and I'll have a handful of guys I'm working with. And those of you who have worked with me, it's hard to describe what I do. I just, I get all in your world. I actually have a bulletin board with photos of guys I'm working with and I'm listening and I'm understanding your dreams so that I can stay focused each day on your growth. And I'm pushing, stretching, poking, cajoling, and sometimes telling your story back to you in a way that's more powerful than how you're able to see yourself. Most of us have that in common...we don't see in ourselves what other people see in us.

Camp includes my one-on-one work, and I want to take you guys and connect you. So it's not just you and I. I want you to know my other guys. I want you to know about what they know and it'll be on your terms. It's not going to be a regular commitment to a mastermind. That's what our regular coaching will do, but I want you exposed to the others and I want you to be in the group. And I want you to be able to participate in the books that we're reading. At some point, if you want to do some mentorship with other business builders, I'd like to make that available.

Business Builder Camp Mastermind is about a small group of business builders getting together week after week for accountability and to push. And that's my way of being able to work with a group of seven guys and leverage and be able to charge a little bit less, but also have that... Some people... I'm in a mastermind group and I've been in a number of group coaching programs. I love consistently being around that group of guys. So mastermind is about that.

Then the larger and least expensive form of camp is Base Camp. Base Camp is a Slack group, and a 2x per month group call, but this program is not have limited to a pod of seven people. We are looking for 100 members in Base Camp. Also in base camp, we're going to provide journals and 120-day plans in hard copy so that you can work the process at home. You'll have a rhythm and a system and accountability. You'll be in MY CAMP.

My plan is when all this Corona craziness end in some way, when we get beyond that, whatever that means, we're going to have Encampment in May. And encampment is my dream and vision to have a larger group of guys together, up to 150 at Bear Creek Mountain in the Allentown area here in Pennsylvania.

So that's a message about what camp is all about out here at the farm. I hope you're well, wherever you are. Always, if I can help in any way or share an idea, I love getting emails, love jumping on quick phone calls. Just let me know, take care.

Go get 'em!
