What is Cadence?
Sales is like music, a progression of notes

What is Cadence?

Cadence is the pulse, the rhythm of your business.

The heartbeat.

We all know that a flow of prospects who become customers is vital for your business.

But how many prospects have you forgotten you have contacted, what was said. Or have you forgotten to contact them when they need your attention?

It is easy when you have one customer, or an ecommerce business. When you have delivered your product, then you move on to fulfil other orders. You have a workflow.

In a service business, you need a flow of customers and following up prospects is best done in a rhythm that matches expectation.

Making lots of sales

Contact 100 cold prospects every day and a few of them reply.

What you do with those warm leads tomorrow is now your priority. You must move them forward and also contact another 100 cold prospects.

Agile Scrum has a very useful principle: Attend to the business cycles that are closer to the completion first.

Harvest the fruit before you prune the trees, and only plant new trees after that. The order is important.

Of course you must attend to each stop of the sales funnel cycle. You need a rhythm that tracks your actions and to record what they say (and be able to share that with your team).

The Cadence of your Sales

Software design reflects the actions that a user will do, too many options and complexity interrupts our chains of thought.

It is important therefore to make actions easy and effortless. That is a primary overarching principle in designing full stack software. The complexity is not something the user wants to worry about.

Instead of "export to your spreadsheet" or "dive through these hoops" we have modelled our procedures against a simple idea: what the user does is what matters. And do not get in the way of action.

It is easier to push a button, write the email and your notes at the same time and press SEND. And move on to the next Prospect.

How to close your prospect

You have just registered for Cadence-CRM and received your welcome email. It says you will be activated but you can create one prospect already to get a feel for it. We activate your account when we have checked you are not a robot. And now you have a free account.

You load in three new prospects from LinkedIn and call one, recording your interaction in the notes. You call your prospect to start a conversation and record the interaction.

Note: We have not yet integrated AI assisted calling*, so you should still talk to a real person, yourself.

Interact and record notes about your interactions

The updated prospect goes to the end of your "Contacted" list, ready to bubble up when you have processed others. Next, you decide to send an email which you can do directly from within the CRM.

You can send Emails directly from the CRM, saving you time.

Your prospect responds to your email showing interest, or returns a questionnaire that makes it clear this prospect may buy from you. You now use the Qualify button and your prospect is in your qualified list.

Qualified prospects are more likely to buy from you

When a qualified prospect gives you an order, you make a sale and you use the Close button to convert them into a Customer. Result!

Qualified prospects become Customers when you use the Close Button

It's not hard, is it?

Future editions

I have had some great feedback on LinkedIn and would like to think about future editions of the Chronicle of Cadence newsletter. If there are subjects you would like to cover, be sure to reach out to me (on LinkedIn).

Next newsletter, we will expand on how to make deals with customers. In a future edition, we will look at AI software development in detail. And examine the repeating trends in the software industry.

Call to action

In the meantime you can register your interest on https://cadence-crm.com.

You will then appear as a prospect in the CRM, (and experience the delights of me learning to use the CRM to convince you to register). Go on, subscribe, share and support!

Early Adopters

The first cohort of FREE users will have extended capabilities so get in fast and help support the progressive development of this product.

*AI Assisted calling, yes we are considering integrating this with the CRM. It will cost more, so do not worry, it will not happen unless you REALLY want it.
