What This Business "Stuff" is Really About...

This is hands down one of my biggest honors since starting my business 12 years ago.
At my high school, Lord Botetourt, My former coach and now friend, Jonathan Cook has made a push for entrepreneurship education.
Nothing makes me happier than knowing that entrepreneurship is being taught to this degree at my former high school. It's awesome and really makes me proud of LBHS for showing students the option of being your own boss.
Coach Cook invited me to come to speak to his classes, and I excitedly jumped on the opportunity!
20 years ago, I walked into this school a puny freshman (seriously, I was 5'2" 120 as a freshman!), and now, 20 years later (and twice the size, lol), I walked into it as an example for what's possible for students who now sit in the same seats I once did years ago.
To be considered an example to today's students, simply put, is incredible and so humbling. Above all successes in life, I believe that being an example for the future generations have to be a goal we all should strive for.
Coach Cook invited to speak to two of his classes and it was incredible!
I've been fortunate to speak on quite a few stages, some of which had multiple thousands of people in attendance staring at me,
but let me put it on record, lol...
30 high school-aged kids who don't know you in a room staring at you...
is INTIMIDATING lol!
The classes were great though and so respectful, you could tell they really had an incredible interest in entrepreneurship.
We talked about online business, how I sell information, YouTube, my old athletic career, cars, and more.. haha!
I just hope they left the room even just slightly thinking BIGGER, believing they could accomplish more, and that they have plenty to offer this new world that's about to open up to them.
Thanks, Coach Cook for reaching out to me with this opportunity and the honor! I can't wait to be back!
To my entrepreneurial friends, take a look at the schools in your area, and see if speaking opportunities like this may exist for you. I'll tell you now, this was FULFILLING as heck, and you'll be so proud you did it!
