What #business lessons can you learn from Skydiving?

Many people would baulk at the idea of skydiving, why would you jump out of a perfectly good plane, right?
Maybe jumping out of a perfectly good plane at 4200 meters high and free falling at 220km/h is not on your bucket list. But if you are an #entrepreneur it might surprise you how much you can learn from the experience, there are many parallels with running a business and you can’t deny it livens up a #coaching session!
1. LEARN TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATIONS
Personal and professional development happens when you operate outside of your comfort zone, or in this case, jump out of it! Only then will you learn more about yourself and realise what amazing things you are capable of, much more than you can imagine!
2. FOLLOW YOUR VISION
Even if others around you do not do the same and let go. This is what makes a leader, she doesn’t quit even if everyone else does, she lives in her vision and is crazy enough to see it through to the end.
3. SHARE THE EXPERIENCE WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE
I had the pleasure of doing my first parachute jump with my loved ones, you can’t put into word the joy of seeing the people you care about overcome their fears (including a fear of heights), the euphoria of being together and sharing such an amazing experience will be difficult to top! You can’t put into words the gratitude you feel for the professionals you jump with, especially when the first parachute failed to open! Like in business sometimes things go wrong, but the people you have around you will pull you through!
4. ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B
Always have a backup plan, like a spare parachute in case the first failed to open. Emergency planning prepares you to respond to many possible outcomes; if you fail to plan then you plan to fail!
5. STOP BEFORE FEAR WINS!
When I was on the plane, I knew I was going to jump but I was scared. However, I made a conscious decision to stop being afraid and enjoy the experience. Do not let negative thoughts rob you of precious times and amazing experiences. Masters are not guided by what may fail: instead, they ask: “what must go well for us to achieve our goals?”
6,7,8… and I could do this forever…
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CONTROL EVERYTHING, FEEL THE FREEDOM…LOOK FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE...
To sum up, business and life let me quote #WonderWomen, Helen Keller, deaf-blind writer, social activist and the first deaf-blind women to win Bachelor of Arts; and by Mark Twain named the most interesting personality next to Napoleon:
“Safety is usually superstition…Life is either a courageous adventure or nothing.”
Now Your Step (jump??? :)
Remind yourself of this thing that you postpone or have concerns about and commit today. Make plans. Whenever it is for your professional life or personal, take the first step and let me know how it feels!
This is my story (comments in Polish, however, please enjoy the view and the music!):
I wish you wonderful adventures and trust you will jump into a courageous future!
