What Is A Brokerage General Agent ?


A CONFUSING AND SOMETIMES UNKNOWN PART OF THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY THAT HELPS PROTECT THE INSURANCE AGENT AND CONSUMER.

The Brokerage General Agent, also known as BGA, helps agents with insurance products for clients for which they may not have another market within their office or primary company.

The consumer usually does not know the BGA is even involved since we only talk to the agent that contacts us looking for alternatives for their customer. We are a partner with the agent to help offer the customer the best product available benefit wise and with the most competitive premium possible.

One call to us does it all, with our knowledgeable and helpful staff having over 120 years of combined experience.

We are appointed with over 80 insurance companies, providing products for life insurance – Term, Universal Life and Whole Life, Single Premium products, Impaired Risk Life, Annuities, Long Term Care, Dental, Short and Long Term Disability, Group Medical and Disability, and Travel Medical. We also specialize in Senior oriented products such as Life, Medicare Supplement, Dental and Travel Coverage.

The Agent does not have to keep up with product changes, quoting, and trying to figure out which company will fit the client best. We will follow up with the underwriters and keep the agent in the loop, assist in submitting the application, underwriting requirements and policy issuance. Commission payments are made directly from the individual carrier to the writing agent or their company.

We act as the agent’s back office with no expense to the agent, and use our insurance company relationships to secure the best tentative quote from our many carriers to assist the agent in deciding which product is best for the customer.

For the most accurate, tentative, quote we need from the agent the customer name or initials, date of birth, state of residence, medical records or overview of the persons health, occupation, etc.

We will never speak directly to the client unless that is requested, and with the agent also on the line.

Once again, all commission checks will be paid directly by the carrier to the agent or their company.

You can speak directly with us, without leaving a voicemail in most cases, unless all phone lines are busy or it is after hours. We are a 2nd generation family business with a 3rd generation in line here to serve you far into the future.
