What the BRCGS Professional programme did for Comercializadora de Plasticos (Pan Pacific)

I recently caught up with Commercializadora de Plasticos, a Chilean Clamshell and Punnet manufacturer, who had their teams participate in the BRCGS Professional Programme, this is their story.

What key challenges are you facing as a Food manufacturing company at this point in time?

Our key challenge is manufacturing products that meet the quality and safety requirements agreed with our clients, backed by the BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard.

How do you address this challenge?

We invest in the Professional Development of our employees – one of our main objectives is to have trained and competent personnel focused on compliance with the technical specifications and safety of our products.

Why did you choose to train your staff through the BRCGS Professional Programme?

Because it is a complete program that helps us achieve our goal of maintaining the BRCGS standard. It Will also allow us to show customers that we have trained and competent staff, demonstrating our real interest in complying with the safety, quality and legality standards that make up BRCGS.

What benefits have you seen so far from the program?

For us, there are have been many benefits. Firstly, we created a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the implementation of the Standard. This allowed us to understand the different visions of each work área which allowed us to improve all the various stages of the implementation. BRCGS Professional is a professional achievement that will allow us to optimize the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and Product Safety. It has also given us the necessary tools to maintain the Standard in our company. Overall, we have been able to better detail our processes and make continuous improvements

Your team conducted the training with our ATP Federico Sánchez. Can you tell us a little bit about how that worked?

The courses were agile and entertaining, and we achieved a greater knowledge of the requirements of the BRCGS Standard. Without Federico’s help and training received we could hardly have completed this implementation.
