What Is The Box, In-- Thinking Out Of The Box?

Recently, I got featured on Jio Talks. It's a prestigious platform that features thought leaders and celebrities. ?The theme of my talk was, how creative geniuses generate numerous ideas, as if from thin air. (While mere mortals struggle even for a few ideas.)

I took on the question 'What exactly is the 'BOX' in--Thinking Out Of The Box?

In essence, we don't get out of the box. We simply expand our boxes. From one box we get into the other. Here is the complete session for you.

Creative Mindset: More you ask for, more you recieve!

In a recent cretivity workshop with MBA students, we generated ideas for improving various products. I gave them a target of 100 ideas, and they were wide-eyed.

How can someone generate so many ideas?

But then, they tried. All the groups crossed 60 ideas. Then I shared some more tips and techniques. Soon, 100 became the benchmark for all other exercises.

Demand more from yourself.

That's one important difference between mediocre creatives and the professionals. Geniuses ask much more from themselves and their teams. They refuse to accept the lower standards.

And that helps them create not just more ideas, but also better ideas.

In fact, many initial ideas are not ideas, just observations: Rehash of ideas we have seen happening around us. Only when those ideas are documented, and we keep pushing, the proverbial creative juices begin to flow.

And then, we discover fresh perspectives.
