What is Bolting? How to control it.

#Bolting a plant prematurely develops a flowering stalk prior to harvesting (in an attempt to produce seed). Plants are rather than growing in the desired vegetative phase, plants focus their energy on reproduction. Bolting is also known as “going to seed”. In most cases, a small flowering bud forms in the center of the plant or stem, and then grows very quickly in height. #leafygreens, #broccoli, #lettuce, #bokchoy, and other heat-sensitive #vegetables are particularly susceptible to bolting.

There are several causes of bloting, including fluctuations in temperature, heat waves, too much hot nutrient solution (particulate in hydroponics), and crops planted during the wrong season (e.g., planting cool-season vegetables during summer). It also occurs through plants that receive inadequate light or too much shade, inconsistent watering, inadequate nutrition, or seedlings that are root-bound. in short, plants are suffering from stress or otherwise unhappiness with the conditions it’s provided at that time plants are bolting. ?

#Symptoms of bolting, lettuce heads are incomplete or poor-developed, and their latex (white sap) content will be higher. While a spinach leaf's shape changes from its standard oval shape (while it is growing vegetatively) to an arrowhead shape (while it is growing reproductively). In bolted spinach, white flowers bloom at the nodes of the leaves in a fan-shaped pattern.

It is necessary to follow some steps to prevent the bolting of plants.

1.??????Crops should be selected according to the climate and season

2.??????During heat waves, keep the plants shaded and hydrated

3.??????Choose heat-tolerant or bolt-resistant varieties

4.??????Make sure that you provide regular moisture and mulch

5.??????Provide the recommended amount of sunlight

6.??????Be careful not to stress seedlings
