What Bias?

What Bias?

It’s IWD and this time around we are breaking the bias.

There have been various biases against women. Gender bias, relational bias, intellectual bias, political, religious bias, and all of these biases are rooted in human culture, traditions, religions, ethnicity, mindsets, and families.

Biases that appear normal, almost unnoticeable?

A woman who has to be presented in a certain way to be accepted?

She has to speak in a certain tone to be permitted

She has to smile a certain way to be beautified

She has to walk in a certain path to be recognized?

She has to own a certain heritage to be respected

She has to endure certain suffering to be strong

Certainly, women have been restricted for no reason other than being a woman

By Who?

By women, by men - By Humans

By women who think they are better than men?

By men who think they are better than women.

The same beings hating on themselves.

So then let’s break the bias against ourselves?

Let’s be and make

A woman who actually supports others genuinely?

A woman who treats others well

A woman who stands against life odds and stands tall

A woman who’s grateful to be woman not just when tagged ‘strong’

A woman full of love that is enough for everybody?

A woman who sees her own value in her own self

A woman who doesn’t compete with others rather with life and wins

A woman unashamed, unrestricted?

A woman actually breaking her own barrier?

A woman gentle and firm

A woman whose worth is herself?

A woman’ woman?

Everyone is breaking the bias today on International Women's Day because it’s International Women's Day reminding us to break the bias and celebrate ourselves per usual.

We will celebrate as many women's days as we choose because it’s always a day to remind everyone to be a KIND HUMAN BEING!

Cheers to Breaking the Bias
