What IF?

This morning, I awoke with two distinct thoughts; both screaming in a whisper. First, the Janeway Telethon is only 16 days away!!! It is my 31st joyful year associated with the Telethon. I love it and cannot NOT do it. It is now part of who I am.

Also, I had a thought (with subsequent related thoughts lol) of the words of Baha'u'llah... "Let deeds, not words, be your adorning." Then Ralph Waldo Emerson came to mind with, “Your actions speak so loudly, I can not hear what you are saying.” And Desiderata popped in as I passed it on my living room wall.

Maybe it was in answer to a prayer last night. Maybe it was, in part, a response to this post I saw yesterday. It matters little; but for its truth.

Words are important. What we write or say has meaning; and we should give both thought and care. But talk is cheap, if not supported by aligned action. May your deeds seek, meet, greet and embrace your words. More importantly, may your words do same for deeds.

That is Integrity.

Living so requires Honesty, Truthfulness, Courage, Boldness, Honor, Respect, Devotion, Dedication, Fidelity and more. Consider Fidelity. It is more than what you think.

Promises are to be kept to ourselves and others. We need only make the promises we know we intend to keep. Otherwise, they are no promise, but a wish. For me, I believe in unity in diversity. I always have, since childhood. It is core to me, and so I must stand in my work and play and living. In so doing, this morning, I wish all of my Muslim friends and colleagues a wondrous Ramadan. I share in the understanding of the sacred FAST with my own in March each year. May you experience ever deeper understanding through this special month. Also, in so doing, I participate today in the Dragon's Lair with Skills Canada, helping the youngest of entrepreneurs. I cannot wait. And, this evening, I attend the Mount Pearl Focus on Youth Awards. In all, I expect and look forward to experience unity in diversity of age and background and talent; a wondrous and needed and strategically advantageous thing.

Yes, let your deeds be your adorning. Let them speak so loudly, words are but a garnishment. Walk your talk. Rock your talk. Be what you say and say what you be. As Jean-Luc Picard said over 30 years ago, "If we're going to be damned, let's be damned for what we really are.". Trustworthiness will be your reward; and that is one precious commodity at school, work, business and community.
