What is attraction marketing?
Julia Katsivo Carter
Holistic-approach business coach for small business owners and their teams. Bubbly, calm. Yup.
The word VALUE used to bother me when it came to business.
Because the people who approached me and claimed they were offering me value - were not.
Somewhere, someone is teaching that creating relationships and providing value means contacting a stranger, providing them with PDFs and videos they didn't ask for including a complimentary call made free just for you. There. Relationship created.
Or that it means contacting a stranger, making a few comments on some of their posts and asking for more information. Then launching into a pitch.
These methods discount a very important component that isn't taught in those kind of sales classes. That humans are highly evolved to interpret unspoken communication including energy and intent. That push-back on those kinds of interactions are inevitable because of the "vibe" given off.
So what is value and relationship-building?
Value: Providing something that is being sought and is wanted. That's what makes it valuable
Relationship-building: Honesty about why you're making contact
So...how does the opposite kind of marketing work?
Attraction marketing
Drawing people to you and what you do as a natural consequence of them feeling like they know you, liking what you do or how you do it as well as trusting your intentions.
Music albums provide one of the best examples of attraction marketing.
You listen to a song and connect with it (and the artist). You like more songs and so you buy the album. You love the artist and so you go to a concert. You trust the artist and so you follow their (utilizing inclusive pronoun) life and what they share, commenting or sharing with others because of this wonderful psychological need, 'You Identify With."
That's attraction marketing.
