Gorillas are territory animals. At 500 pounds they are formidable combatants, however, they do all they can to not to fight. The injuries that two battling Silver Back gorillas would encounter could be lethal for both the winner and the loser. So the scare tactics are used to avoid the building of relationships and keep outsiders out. Gates keep things out and keep things in. Our ideologies serve the same purpose. The Alt-Right, Neo-Nazi movement was birth out of not feeling heard and they have a point. This session will require progressives to deeply analyze the importance of listening in an effort to prick the hearts of those who feel unheard.
