What is this all about? The Churn - Issue #1.

Welcome to the first issue of The Churn, a monthly newsletter about HR Technology.

Rather than write a long first issue and fall flat on my face - I'm going to use this first one as a quick way to explain what this newsletter is about by answering questions I imagine you might have. These are probably the wrong questions - so feel free to shout at me in the comments below.

I'm also going to ask for some feedback to ensure that future (proper) editions deliver what you want. As above, please shout at me in the comments.

Why the weird name?

It's a tenous (tedious?) link to the HR tech services business that I'm a co-founder of, Udder. How I came up with that name is best discussed over a beer (or a milkshake). Honestly, Saatchi and Saatchi have got nothing on me.

Anyhow, onwards!

What is this newsletter about?

HR Technology.

That is both specific and vague at the same time - what is it going to include?

  • News - including product releases, investment updates, and other stuff that you might be interested in
  • Learning - how to select, implement, adopt and optimise HR tech to get the best results for your business
  • Customer Stories - straight from the coalface, we'll hear how folks like you get the best out of their HR tech and learn from some of their mistakes
  • Showcases - of particular segments of HR technology
  • Reviews - we'll share no-holds-barred thoughts on HR tech - to help you make the right decisions
  • A bit of fun? - is there a lighter side of HR tech? We'll find out

Who is it for?

  • HR, Talent & TA/Recruitment leaders looking to keep pace with the ever-changing world of HR technology
  • HR Op's teams looking to keep their finger on the pulse of the HR tech industry
  • HR Tech Vendors who want to keep up to speed with what's happening in their world
  • Anyone else who has an interest in HR technology

Did you mention feedback?

Ultimately - this is for you, not me. It won't be perfect to start with (or, in fact, ever), but we'll reflect, refine and improve over time to deliver something that brings valuable insights.

So - what else do you want to hear about? Is monthly too irregular? Is the name ridiculous? Whatever you want to hit me with - I'm all ears.

Tim Meehan Kathy Auld - may be worth subscribing, Alan used to be a customer of mine many years ago before starting Udder (tech consulting) usually has some interesting insight + quirky sense of humour (think …if Chad and Cheese were British ??) Good luck Alan, looking forward to reading the newsletter.

I will be disappointed if you don't shoe horn in at least one milk related pun into each newsletter. Just don't get too cheesy (see what I did there)..........good luck with it Alan ?? ?? ??
