What Was It All For?!

What Was It All For?!

I was horrified when I woke to this morning to scenes of devastation across Afghanistan. I can't help feeling infuriated and saddened by it all. Not just what is happening to the Afghan people, but that now 5.000 U.S military troops has been deployed to clean up a mess of carelessness and bad decisions.

For 20 years, men and women left their families for deployment to what can only be described as hell on earth. Not just U.S military but that of U.S allies across the world. The war raged on and thousands of military personnel, paid the ultimate sacrifice. Leaving families devastated across the world. In the U.S alone there was over 2.000 deaths and over 20,000 wounded in this war. That's not to count the thousands of military who came a shell of themselves. Where their war is never ending and rages on in their mind. For many they lost their battle and took their own lives because of what they experienced in this war.

This could have been avoided if poor decisions was not made in haste. It was like a point had to be proved regardless of the fall out. They wanted to pull out 2,000 U.S military troops before September 11th and NOW, 6 weeks later 5,000 U.S soldiers are in Afghanistan, in extremely hostile situations, fighting a war and it is exactly that...a war, that there was no need for, if a transition of power was implemented in the right fashion, securing the safety for the Afghan people and the common sense to remove, sell or destroy U.S weapons and equipment, before it got into the hands of terrorists. Now U.S military are in a fight for their lives with terrorists who are using their own weapons against them. How is this right?

My issue is the fall out, how many more will die unnecessarily? How many will be injured and how many will come home, with a raging war going on in their mind? Already 22 veterans take their own life every day!! Answers need to be had and people should be held accountable for poor, weak leadership and down right bad decisions.

The question is, what was it all for?! That must be the question on families of those lost through the war, whether they have died in Afghanistan or took their fight home and later died of suicide. or even the families that didn't last the course because of the stress brought home through PTS that they couldn't withstand. I know it is a question I have been asking myself and I am not alone as you can see here from the front page of the Daily Mail, an article headed, "What The Hell Was It All For," I have no words for those effected must be feeling right now. I feel that all those lives lost have been in vain. It truly is beyond a sad situation.

This cannot and should not be let go until someone is held accountable. Our Heroes deserve better. All we can do it pray for the safety of the Afghan people and all those brave men and women deployed. But keep those who lost oved ones in our thoughts and prayers too.

Political promises are more important than doing the right thing! This is a slap in the face of those who served and those that gave their lives while serving, as well as the families that lost loved ones. Our President has failed us greatly!

It is extremely sad and frustrating at the same time. One would think we learned our lesson from Vietnam. And now we will return to help people get out, only to be attacked by taliban thugs using our own equipment against us. Hmmm…….. what is wrong with this picture ?

I see it akin to Vietnam. No administration had the stomach to go in guns blazing and try to WIN the war. They lived in the fear they would look like a war monger. Better to drag things out, lose a few patriots here & there; but certainly not actually go to war. A profound waste to time, money, & lives. The ironic part is... be the administration democrat or republican the each half assed it, to the detriment of all.

It was all for the belief of our military men and women that America was worth fighting for. Never let anyone tell you that their sacrifices were for nothing. Their sacrifices were for the people and the country they loved and the Constitution they swore to uphold. God Bless All Heroes and their families.
