What is the Aircraft “Auto-Land” System and How is it Related to Copay?

Following up on previous aviation-themed articles, I recently attended the “Sun and Fun” aviation conference and air show near Tampa Florida. I saw the new technology by Garmin (a GPS manufacturer) called “auto-land”. Yes, it’s a new, completely automated system for mid-sized airplanes. If the pilot becomes incapacitated, any passenger can press one button, and the plane’s advanced system will check the weather, find the closest airport for the size plane being flown, communicate with the tower, and land the plane safely on it's own!

No pilot is needed (to get back down once you are up, that is), and all passengers are brought back safely to the ground. Emergency services can be waiting right there to take the pilot to the hospital. Passengers live! Except for the health of the pilot, it's like the entire incident never happened. Sound impossible? The technology is real and currently functioning in many new planes today (Google it).

The autonomous driving cars we have today have many moving obstacles at all times. On the other hand, planes fly in three dimensions but have fewer moving and “uncontrollable” projectiles coming at them at the same height. You would only use “auto-land” in an extreme emergency; it makes the auto-land system much safer to employ.

Pilots have many other things to manage when preparing for a landing such as weather, communications with (ATC) air traffic control, finding the airport, and entering the pattern, but even given all of that complexity there is a proven infrastructure in place which is leveraged by the new system to get the plane safely on the ground. Once the “auto-land” button is pressed, the plane can communicate with ATC, examine the weather, pick the best airport and runway to land on, and safely land the plane… all by itself.??

This new technology helps both pilots and passengers. For passengers, it might remove some people's fear of flying, as safety is significantly increased. For the pilot, they can fly knowing in the unlikely event that something happens to them medically, the plane will get itself down on the ground with all passengers happy and secure.

What does this have to do with patient copay programs?? It’s all about trust. Having the infrastructure in place for a copay program optimization process you can depend on. Alpha 1C has spent the last 14 years developing the infrastructure and unique technology products to recommend, forecast, analyze, audit, and track your copay programs.

We offer a true “safety net” as an objective 3rd party with the technology to make the time sensitive recommendations which many pharma companies depend on to help manage and “safety check” their copay programs. Alpha 1C is a strategic partner with best-in-class forecasting tools who works with you on your side of the desk working through your strategies for copay. We are not a copay vendor who runs the program, we just make sure they performing the best they can be for your brands.? ?????
